Most people on food stamps hold one, two or more jobs.
People on food stamps are trying to become self-sufficient by trying to work more than one job and feed their
family.
Most food stamps recipients are white (Berg 183).
People on food stamps certainly don't have it made, and frequently, as noted above, have to work more than one job
(see also "Nickel and Dimed: on (Not) Getting By in America" by Barbara Ehrenreich).
If the food stamps program is discontinued and/or eliminated, the ever growing smaller safety net of many Americans
will disappear, and we will have hunger in unspeakable dimensions again, like in the great American depression.
